Located in the heart of Barcelona’s main gay village, Hotel Cram just a few minutes’ walk from some of the city’s best gay bars and clubs. Behind the 1892 façade are modern air-conditioned guest rooms that feature the latest technology including free WiFi and large LCD TV.
The hotel has an excellent rooftop bar and swimming pool. The in-house Gaig restaurant is one of the best places to try Catalan cuisine.

The ‘hetero-friendly’ Axel Hotel offers 105 chic, modern Mediterranean-styled rooms and a new wine bar.
The popular rooftop ‘Sky Bar’ is a destination in its own right, and the Wellness Club 33 offers 500 m² of water zones, spa treatments, massages and personal fitness training.
The Axel is just a short walk from the most popular gay bars and clubs in Eixample and is less than 10 minutes’ walk from city centre. Naturally, the concierge has a wealth of knowledge of everything gay about the city.
A good choice for gay visitors, but expect to pay a premium price when compared with similar quality hotels in the area.

Great location right in the heart of the gay Eixample district (just a few steps from cruise bar Open Mind and the 24-hour Sauna Casanova) and within walking distance of many of the most important historical areas in the city.
All the air-conditioned, contemporary-styled rooms feature flat screen satellite TV and free WiFi. Very close to the Urgell metro station. The Acevi Villarroel was the host hotel for the BEARcelona XII Festival.

Splendom Suites offers huge 70 m² stylish apartments with one or two bedrooms, living/dining area, terrace, fully equipped kitchen (fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, washing machine, etc.), LCD TV with satellite channels and free WiFi.
Housekeeping cleans the apartment every day (including the kitchen), and there is a free 24-hour snack corner in the lobby offering Nespresso coffee, juices and pastries. A great-value alternative to a traditional hotel.

The contemporary-styled SOHO hotel features 51 designer rooms in superb location on Gran Via, about 10 minutes’ walk from Plaza Catalunya and La Rambla – a good base to explore the city as well as the gay nightlife in Eixample.
Guest rooms are relatively compact (like most hotels in Barcelona) but feature comfortable beds, air conditioning, LCD TV and free WiFi. There is a fabulous rooftop swimming pool and sun terrace.
SOHO offers a pretty good breakfast buffet that includes fresh fruit and juices, pastries, breads, eggs, sausages, etc. A great value for money option. The staff are helpful and friendly.

Great value-for-money boutique hotel located on Avenida Diagonol on the boundary of the Eixample district. The Wilson offers a range of contemporary-styled rooms and suites, all of which are soundproof, air-conditioned and have LCD TV (with satellite channels), free WiFi, minibar and safe.
The main gay nightlife area of Eixample is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel, and there are plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby. If you don’t mind the walk, then the Wilson offers a more affordable room compared with other city centre options.

A very futuristic-designed hotel from the Room Mate group, the Emma offers a fabulous visual experience, attention to detail and is yet surprisingly affordable.
Each modern, comfortable guest room features a flat screen TV with satellite channels, free WiFi, minibar and safe. Interior rooms don’t have any windows. If you spend a bit more, then a suite offers more space and a private terrace. Breakfast is served until midday.
Location-wise, Emma is a 10-minute walk to the gay venues in Eixample and the city centre. A good value-for-money option.

Great-value boutique hotel, housed in a spectacular 19th century building on a quiet pedestrian street. The designer rooms at Praktik Rambla combine 100-year-old ceilings and floors with modern touches and the latest technology.
All air-conditioned rooms have a TV, free WiFi and en suite bathroom with spacious shower. The hotel’s excellent restaurant offers freshly cooked breakfasts and brunches.
Praktik Rambla is in the middle of the shopping district and just a few minutes’ walk from the gay bars and clubs in Eixample and even closer to the popular Sunday gay dance club The Black Room.

The stylish guest rooms are surprisingly spacious, air conditioned and have private bathrooms and free WiFi. Some rooms have a balcony with views of the city. There is a cafeteria onsite.
Hostal Amra’s reception is open 24 hours. Luggage storage and bike rental are available. Very gay-friendly and excellent value for money.

Excellent value-for-money hostel in the centre of L’Eixample, next block along from Nova Bruc gay sauna and a 5-minute walk from Passeig de Gràcia and Catalunya train stations.
The soundproof rooms at Hostal Barcelona Centro have free WiFi, wooden floors, air conditioning, flat screen TV and either private or shared bathrooms. There is a 24-hour reception as well as a concierge, vending machine and laundry facilities.
Many cafés, bars & restaurants are nearby. La Rambla and Passeig de Gràcia are just two metro stops away.

Plaza de Cataluñya is generally considered to be the city center, and the intersection of the “old historic city” and the newer 19th century Eixample.
To the south is La Rambla, the most famous street in Barcelona, connecting Plaze de Cataluñya with Port Vell and the beach. The streets off La Rambla are full of boutique shops and cafes. The gay scene in Eixample is a short walk from our recommended hotels.

Ever bought a pair of Camper shoes? Now you can stay at the label’s own hotel. Casa Camper hotel is located in the Raval district, full of art galleries, restaurants and just a 2-minute walk from Plaza Cataluña. The Eixample gay district is a 5-minute walk (although Corinto Sauna is just around the corner).
The gothic, 19th-century exterior hides one of our favourite boutique hotels in the city. Guest rooms have a minimalist style but are very comfortable. Each ‘room’ has two areas (a bedroom and lounge) separated by a corridor, LCD TV, laptop-sized safe, hammock, iPod dock and free WiFi.
Most rates include a full breakfast buffet and as many snacks as you like during the day (sandwiches, soup, pastries, bakery, soft drinks, juices, coffee and tea). Nice touch. Great location, excellent service and utterly cool!

Friendly service, a good breakfast and very affordable.
Mar Bella is the most gay-popular beach in Barcelona. Officially a nudist beach, as many guys keep their tackle undercover as those who let it all hang out. The beach is the furthest away from Barcelona city center and the Eixample gay nightlife. But if hitting the beach is your priority then hotels in this area could be for you.
