Schöneberg district

Technically speaking, these hotels are just outside of the Schöneberg District – but they are all within walking distance of the main gay venues in this area – as well as Kurfürstendamm, one of the most famous shopping avenues in Berlin (and home to the legendary KaDeWe department store).

A 5-star designer hotel on the famous Kurfürstendamm and a few minutes’ walk away from the KaDeWe department store.  The hotel manages to blend art, design and architectural statements with both elegance and minimalistic understatement.  The resulting combination of style, comfort and luxury is, we think, a perfect choice for gay travelers with deeper than average pockets!

The hotel has a full spa including a sauna, a steam room and a gym.  Massage services are also available.  The rather good Brasserie Le Faubourg restaurant offers traditional French cuisine and an outdoor terrace.  Location-wise, the hotel is close enough to the Schöneberg gay district - but not right on top of it.  U: Kurfürstendamm

Located right next door to the Concorde Hotel, The Swissôtel Berlin is another great option.  This hotel, that won a place on Condé Nast Traveler Gold List in 2010 and 2011, has 300 guestrooms and suites, each with a flat screen TV, Nespresso machine, large windows and a bathroom with a separated shower and tub.

Like the other hotels in this area, there is a huge choice of restaurants, shops and bars are nearby and it’s only a short distance away from the gay bars and clubs in the Schöneberg district.  Leisure facilities include a gym and sauna.  WiFi is available for a fee.  U: Kurfürstendamm

Like the Hotel Palace Berlin, the Pullman is located close to Kurfürstendamm Avenue, the KaDeWe department store, Berlin Zoo and just a short walk from some of the best gay bars and clubs in Schöneberg area. Splash Club, one of the best gay saunas in Berlin, is almost next door.

The Pullman’s guestrooms are modern, spacious and feature super comfortable beds, a desk, flat screen TV, kettle for tea and coffee and two free bottles of mineral water.  The larger deluxe rooms and suites have a Nespresso coffee machine.  WiFi is available but charges apply.  The Pullman offers a superb breakfast buffet and has a nice swimming pool and well-equipped gym.  We particularly like the ‘9:00PM Bar’ (just inside the lobby) – its relaxed atmosphere is great for cocktails and snacks.  S, U: Zoologischer Garten & U: Kurfürstendamm
