Madrid Gay Bars

Madrid Gay Bars

Madrid boasts one of Europe's best gay districts, so it's no surprise that there's a wealth of fantastic gay bars

Chueca, Madrid’s trendy gay district, has a queer population that other cities could only dream of. The very visible gay community here can be credited with the density of gay bars and clubs that litter the neighborhood’s charming streets. Many of Chueca’s venues are hybrid spaces, operating as cafes during the day before plugging in the speakers and ushering in a lively gay crowd. With bear bars, cocktail lounges, and pop palaces, there truly is something for any gay traveler in queer Chueca.

There's a huge choice of bars, café bars (that serve food), bar-club hybrids (with a dance floor), and bars with dark rooms or cruising area in the back.

The nightlife here starts late, really late! Many people eat around 10pm then head to a bar well after midnight. Dance clubs get busy from 3am onwards.
