Gay Malta

The Maltese archipelago is located in the center of the Mediterranean. Comprised of three islands, Malta, Gozo and Comino, the archipelago enjoys great weather, has an extraordinary number of historical sights, spectacular natural scenery and beautiful architecture.

malta

Malta is the largest island and commercial hub. Gozo is a more tranquil and greener island. Comino is a tiny, largely uninhabited island popular with walkers, windsurfers and snorkelers.

LGBT Rights in Malta

Malta is one of just a handful of countries that has enshrined LGBT rights at a constitutional level. Discrimination is outlawed, civil union legislation was passed in 2014 and gay adoption is legal.

Malta has an active LGBT community. The annual Pride parade in Valletta is widely supported an attended by leading figures from all main political parties.

In 2016, Malta became the first country in the European Union to ban conversion therapy.
