Playa Es Cavallet is the most popular gay beach on Ibiza. Officially a nudist beach, the gay area is furthest away from the car park in front of the (almost) exclusively gay beach restaurant called Chiringay. This sandy beach tends to get busy around midday with a party atmosphere kicking in from around 4pm in front of Chiringay.
There are plenty of sun loungers and shades available to rent, and an ‘at seat’ drinks and snacks service is provided by Chiringay. Immediately behind the beach are bushy dunes that are popular cruising spots in their own right.
There are two ways of getting to the beach. Drive – car parking can be a problem in high season, so don’t arrive too late. Take a bus from Ibiza town. Previously, it was possible to take the boat from Figueretas Beach to Es Cavallet, but this service is no longer available.
Peak season for the beach is July and August. However, both June, September and even early October are great times to visit. Plenty of sunshine and a much more relaxed and chilled out vibe than during August means the beach still attracts hundreds of gay sunbathers.

A very popular restaurant and bar located immediately behind the gay area on Playa Es Cavallet beach. During the day, the staff provide an ‘at seat’ food and drinks service to customers hiring sun loungers and shades.
Chiringay offers a full lunch and bar service including an excellent range of fresh fish and a selection of cocktail, wine and fresh juices. The toilets to the rear are available for use by all sunbathers. During peak season, it’s a good idea to book a table in advance.
As the sun sets, Chiringay turns up the music and creates a party atmosphere on the beach immediately in front of the restaurant. Take this into consideration when choosing your sun lounger.
at seat service available
