The most popular and gayest restaurant in Soho’s Old Compton Street. BALANS serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is open around the clock. Bigger on the inside than you might assume from the front entrance.
Good food, great cocktails, handsome waiters and reasonable prices. Free WiFi. BALANS is a place to be seen. Reservations recommended for Friday or Saturday nights. There are several branches in London.

Nice, but pricy
“Had dinner on Monday night, 15th June. This is a busy, stylish and very gay eatery right in the heart of gay Soho. A bit of an experience. The service and food was fast and reasonably good. The scallops, calamari were good. The "potstickers" starter (£7.50) turned out to the be 4 bits of gyoza! The balan burger was nice enough, but not particularly special. Left feeling we had a good time, but were definitely paying a bit of a "gay premium".“

“Balans is a real Soho gay institution. Great location in the heart of Old Compton Street directly opposite Comptons Bar. Great for breakfast, lunch and dinner, cocktails or just a coffee. A bit pricey, even by London standards, but often full. Super friendly staff. “
