Love this place, great staff attentiveness, amazing weekend high energy atmosphere (DJs,CABARET), with a slower more relaxed and more intimate feeling during the week days. Serving great value for money food that can’t be beaten on the LGBT+ scene!

Charles St is now Charles Street Tap

2018 update: The biggest and arguably the best gay bar in Brighton has reopened after a major refurbishment. The space is now bigger and can seat more diners and drinkers. They now serve craft beers in addition to a good value food menu. It's a lively and friendly bar attracting all ages, with a mixture of gay men and women, plus some straight friends. The small dance floor for evening dancing has been retained. The raised seating area at the back doubles up as a stage for weekly drag nights or other events like bingo evenings. It's great to see this popular venue back on track and still very gay.

Cute staff, slow service

The guys behind the bar are cute, but they need more of them. Our group of 4 walked in for a drink on Friday night about 9pm. We gave up waiting at the bar after about 15 minutes, walked up to Legends (which admittedly had less customers) and got served straight away.

Go on a Sunday!

Very camp bar. Cabaret on a Sunday with the lovely Imelda is a treat - music is fantastic, and the drinks are affordable so you're bound to have a good time. Attracts a range of different guys, young and old as well as Brighton's finest queens. Gets busy very quickly, so make sure you get there early (6/7ish) to guarantee a seat!!
