Aeryn Gillern missing from Kaiserbrundl

What happened to Aeryn Gillern? His mother received a call on Halloween 2007 that he was missing. It was believed by Austrian police that he was last seen running naked from the Kaiserbründl sauna in Weihburggasse after an assumed physical altercation where 1 person allegedly went to the hospital although his last confirmed location was a sauna on Stephansplatz after work.

The Best and a MUST visit

If you are in Vienna and looking for a Sauna this is the place to go. Probably one of the cleanest saunas in Europe. Yes, it is quite a large space and you take a bit of time to figure things all out. But they have everything well planned. There is also a beautiful resting area, which is quiet and away from the rush. There are two cafes/dining/drinking areas, one as you enter and another inside. They have a small foam party section on Thursdays and Fridays Crowd is mixed. Both old and young. A good mix. If at all the only negative is ( I think it is general to Vienna), Unlike in other saunas (like Amsterdam for an example) you don't get free condoms and lube. So take your own. People usually carry a small pouch with them. Overall its a lovely space, clean, safe, friendly staff and though it's not always majorly crowded, there is enough people and enough action. 20 euros entrance and 2 euros for slippers. You can also take your own towel, something colourful, so no one will take it by mistake when you are in the steam room or at the foam bath.

One of the best saunas anywhere

Absolutely love this sauna... provides various facilities and their foam nights alone are a reason for a visit. The boys at the entrance to the foam party - simply awesome! Sexy and fun! Every time I visit Vienna this place is on my list :)

It's OK

It's very spacious place and it's OK. And a bit expensive too. Personally, I prefer a small place so the people are not scattered every where.

A definite go-to

I'm visiting from Canada. Not only is this a stunning venue but I had the hottest experience here. Tons of opportunity for fun and lots of rooms/areas to explore. Mixed selection of guys but most seemed 30+ which I was good with. Love the architecture inside, it dates back to the royal family I believe. I liked the pool. Met some great guys. The front desk guy was super friendly and helpful, as it was only my second time at a sauna. A definite must-see in Vienna!

no attractive people on a hot summer Sunday evening

I was there on a hot Sunday evening of July 2017 and the sauna was pretty empty to my disappointment. There were around 20-30 guys in total, mostly guys older than 50 and no guys were in good shape. It was worth a visit only to enjoy the architecture and that's why I give it two stars.

It might have seen better days

Whenever you come across so many raving reviews of a gay sauna it's overrated. The pictures might show an authentic palace, however the real thing is far more modest. We came twice, once to find a few old guys probably taking a break from a hard day work and next time virtually empty. A tremendous waste of time.

A place for Real Men

This place is absolutely erotic. Smell of real men manhood is everywhere and around every corner of the place. The swimming pool located just opposite and in-front of the open showers. The most erotic corner I found is setting on the bench located just at the entrance of another open shower cubical. This cubical shower is made in purpose to be tiny yet it accommodates around 10 showers where touching another guy’s body is un-avoidable. The steam room is a must to try. Dark and always crowded. A lot of men are lined up at the entrance of the room as you walk in the room and you have the chance to check out and intentionally grab some your spot inside this wet area. The place is just amazing whether you are an exhibitionist or like to watch men.

Sensual, sexy and hot

I never ever was in a place like this. It's absolutely wonderful, magical and sensual, every corner stimulates your senses and you can go over all the place and enjoy very good moments in every hall. Don't miss the aromatherapic sesions in the dry sauna, and more over, let yorself go to enjoy the moment alone or with others.

A wonderful place

This is best sauna in Vienna, and one of the best I knew on my trip by Central Europe. Facilities are so big, and beautiful. Great swimming pool. Wonderful two saunas, and delicious and very cruisy steam room. They have a guy, so beautiful, who makes the "towel show" on one dry sauna; loved it. So much space to cruise, great drinks, beautiful guys, nice staff. Go there!!!

If you read some reviews you won't go but don't believe them

My partner and I attended on 28 August 2016. We read some reviews which said it was dated and unclean and full of old people but decided to go anyway as we thought we just like looking anyway as we are voyeuristic. We like guys looking at us and tend to stick together anyway so clientele was a bonus if hot but we were more than pleasantly surprised. Friendly helpful staff with even some hiumour which we liked! We had lunch there which was lovely but they should avoid garlic sauce on the salad! I also booked a massage 40 euros for 50 minutes which was absolutely excellent. The place was clean efficient interesting with loads of cabins videos and 2 dry and one wet sauna. The plunge pool is about 10 m pretty but freezing. No jacuzzi which was a shame but we spent several hours at the place having drinks and seeing many hot guys. Age range widely varied but mainly in the over 40s. I would highly recommend it if only to get a feel of gay Vienna.

Highly Recommended

As a couple, we had a great experience. Fantastic surroundings, friendly relaxed atmosphere, guys of all age groups, clean, excellent facilities, and very friendly staff. Had a meal in their bistro before using the sauna which was very nice , and had a long chat with a very friendly barman who had only been working there a couple of weeks. Most of the staff and customers also spoke English which was very useful! Would like to live in Vienna just so we could be members and go regularly. Obviously with any sauna, it can vary as to how busy they are and the types of guys enjoying the facilities, but we were not disappointed and would recommend you visit if in the area.

A MUST VISIT !

All the reviews I read on the different websites about this sauna were discouraging me to go however I was so excited to go and see this sauna. I made it and I went on Easter Monday (28/4/16). Once you're there and if you're a first time visitor a guy came with you to explain where you can find the steaming room, the Finnish sauna, the play room and where are the lockers and teach you how to use them. When you see the sauna you really enjoy it and don't pay attention anymore to the guys there :P however there were lot of hot handsome guys - the water in the inside pool is cold but it is so nice to go into it once u'r out of the sauna or steaming room - very refreshing - the space dedicated to sit and relax was so nice and vintage. I would go again to this sauna - a big YES .

Love this place

I just love this place...I could go to just enjoy the architecture, but also always seem to have as well. It was very busy on a Monday afternoon, but not sure if that was the left over crowd from the EuroVision or normal. If you are in Vienna, you really need to check this place out. I heard it was getting run down, which it may, but did not seem any worse than when I was there several years ago.

Stunning

What a beautiful place with superb facilities. I did not expect the kind of place to be a gay sauna. I went there a couple of time and think Sunday evening is the best time to go. Expect a bit of older crowd.
