Korte Boterstraat 2A, Brussels, Belgium, 1000

The oldest gay bar in Brussels. We love the 'pub feel' here - it's cosy, friendly, and the beer selection is superb. Ask the barman for his recommendations if you're not sure what to try.

La Reserve has a great sound system, and the music is upbeat and loud, especially on weekends! Attracts a more mature crowd.

Owner is funny

LOL at the insecure owner who is so peculiar. My friend asked for the prices/menu of drinks and he basically shouted at her to get out. I feel sorry for the owners - clearly surviving off an existing client base, which is not likely to be sustainable. Miserable and negative place.

Friendly, gay tavern

This is my "go to" place in Brussels. The prices are fare. The atmosphere is relaxed. The staff is welcoming and friendly. It's true that the staff do not allow obnoxious or rude behavior. That's one of the things that makes this bar/tavern great!

Absolutely appalled and unnecessary foul aggressive behaviour from staff and customers

Lost for words. Felt vulnerable and was made very unwelcome as soon as we walked in. They asked us to leave immediately. We are 4 normal 40yr old ladies, on holiday, and popped in for a drink. This is the worst place we have ever been and we were totally disgusted by their behaviour. Avoid at all costs. Discrimination this day and age! Unbelievable that this bar is allowed to hold a licence!!!

Mesdames, la réserve est avant tout un rétablissement gay.

It's up to you to adapt, Ronny and his team are very open-minded. Behave normally and everything will be fine, the new generation is not mysogynistic. In my youth it was very mysogynistic, I can assure you

Nasty and horrible

Bar in the centre of Brussels, it is mostly older guys. Staff are unfriendly. The owner (Rony) is nasty, shouts at customers and is drunk most of the time, falling around the bar. Do not go to La Reserve.

Very violent Owner Rony

Very very disappointed by the place and the boss who was particularly violating with these customers... We could see that he was drunk. Anyway, I do not recommend this bistro. There are many better and more welcoming.

I would think twice

Definitely attracts older crowd, if you are young I would not recommend to step in as you might be offended or even worst, There is plenty of other places in Brussels to hang out.

Quiet and sociable

Authentic bar which is a nice place to go to socialise and meet new people. Attracts an older crowd. Close to other gay bars should you get bored. Cheap drinks.
