Platja de l'Home Mort, Sitges, Spain

Despite being a good 45-minute walk from town, this nudist beach is surprisingly a popular choice. This may be partly due to the wooded area behind the beach (on the other side of the railway line) that can be as busy as the beach itself!

To get to Platja de l'Home Mort, walk (or take a taxi) to Club Atlantida. Continue along the coastal path past the straight nudist beach, after which you will come to the gay nudist beach.

Be very aware that some sections of the path run very close to the railway line and you proceed at your own risk! This beach is mostly pebbles, so taking an inflatable airbed is recommended.

A limited number of sun loungers and shades are available for hire, and there is a small bar serving (relatively expensive) drinks - so it's a good idea to pack what you think you will need for the day.

Platja de l'home mort

Visited in september - absolutely packed towel to towel. Sitting on a shingle pebble beach with wafts of tobacco smoke. Nobody talking to anybody else just staring and people/body watching. The beach is controlled by a couple of people who won't hesitate to come down and scream at you. They run the overpriced and equally unfriendly bar. Why would anybody want to come here? Just take a picnic and visit the other beaches; the Sitges end of the beach before Platja de L'Home Mort is quiet and pleasant and you can sunbathe naked there too but you need to scramble down the path wearing trainers. There are also fabulous beaches further north after Barcelona just south of Pol de Mar between Mataro and Blanes. Pure clean sand, transparant water, easy access. This part of the coastline is full of naturist beaches which out of season are delightful.

Next beach along is better

You come to the beach shown in the photo first. It is pebbles and has hardly anyone on it. Walk a further 200m (there are signs) along the side of the railway towards the tunnels. This next beach has lots of sand, a decent bar, sun beds and parasols for hire and LOADS more gay guys. Think it is called Xingay beach. BTW club Atlanta has burned down. Get the toy train or walk along the prom to the end (furthest from the church...turn right if you're looking at the beach). Jump over the wall and follow the coast to join the path to and past club atlantida.
